Transcription: When a supernova occurs, a star explodes violently, creating as much light as 10 billion of our suns. Now there was a lot of matter in that star, and because of the explosion, that matter begins to expand outward. Eventually what's left behind is a diffuse cloud of gas and dust called a nebula. The gas and dust often interact with light from other sources and often form a glow, as shown here.
